WorkWell

An app that brings employers and employees together,

not only to work better, but to be better.

The Mission

WorkWell is the initial development of an application that focuses on closing the generational gap in the workplace, by speeding up, yet simplifying the job-hunting process and prioritising the mental well-being of employers and employees.

Inspiration

The journey of WorkWell started as a final project for my university studies and quickly turned into a personal passion.

The main inspiration behind the concept of the app is the importance of finding the balance between professional and personal life. With the current trend of self-improvement and well-being, all industries need to adapt to the growing demand for empathy and understanding in a professional setting. However, realising how personal growth doesn’t only aid individuals, but businesses too, there is a potential market and a growing need for a platform that connects the two, bringing employers and employees closer together, not only to work better but to feel better.

Consumer Profiles

  • Brie is a marketing intern who has been on the job hunt for more than 4 months. The huge volume of freshly available jobs makes it difficult for her to customise her CV to each position individually. She also spends a long time preparing for interviews and often she doesn’t hear back from companies. She needs a faster application process and a better response rate.

  • Fino is a graphic designer at a marketing agency and also an artist on the side. He works from home, as he doesn’t like the office environment, since his manager micromanages and creates an uncomfortable space for team members. He wants to change jobs and hopes that he finds more alignment between his future position, team and manager in the next workplace.

  • Alex is the founder of a London-based social media agency. She is slowly reaching the point of having too many clients and tasks on her to-do list and she needs an intern. However, she doesn’t have time to review CVs and her candidate not only needs to be aligned with Alex herself, but her personal brand and clients too.

Research

The concept of WorkWell is incredibly broad, involving multiple complex research topics, such as well-being, networking, tech, generational work value sectors, forecasted consumer trends and personality tests.

With the accumulated primary and secondary research and with the help of the initial wireframing of the app, WorkWell is now close to the stage of getting pitched to gain investments and get started on patenting the concept.

  • To get my hands on the rawest form of research about consumer habits, generational values, and work-life balance expectations, I conducted a significant amount of primary research involving interviews, meetings and focus groups. The participants of the primary research were personality test developers, business CEOs, interns, managers, fashion backstage producers and design consultants, whose insights and feedback proved to be extremely important in the development of WorkWell and reassured the need for such a product in the market.

  • In order to get a better understanding of the technical side of the project, I took a deep dive in the world of app development, wire framing, investor pitching and strategy decks. This not only meant secondary research, but also the quick adaptation of a previously unknown developing software, Figma.
